Apago’s PDF Enhancer is meant to be used by people who want to produce PDF documents and want to get things done as quickly as possible. PDF Enhancer is a workflow automation tool for Windows; it is a high-volume, batch-based utility that allows you to select a general purpose PDF document and prepare it for a specific use. It comes in handy for purposes related to the creation, standardization, and optimization of PDF documents.

PDF Enhancer is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. I installed PDF Enhancer on my Windows-powered PC and I have to say that it was a simple matter that took very little of my time.
PDF Enhancer is available as a Professional and as a Server Edition. The trial version, which is free to use for 10 days, allows you to evaluate both editions.

A prompt shows up when you launch PDF Enhancer. The prompt tells you how many days are left in your trial and asks you “which edition would you like to try?” From a dropdown menu you can choose to use PDF Enhancer Professional or PDF Enhancer Advanced Server. Once you’re done with this prompt, you will be presented with PDF Enhancer’s interface – an interface that is quite easy to use.

Optimize PDF documents for a particular purpose – that is, in a nutshell, what you can do with PDF Enhancer. Here’s a closer look at the functionality PDF Enhancer has to offer: resize and impose images; add stamps, watermarks, page numbers; embed and subset fonts in a PDF document; color management system; protect PDF documents against unauthorized access; add or modify metadata; build new PDF documents; reduce the size of PDF documents by reducing the resolution of images.

As mentioned above, PDF Enhancer is not free, it is only free to try. You can test PDF Enhancer Professional or PDF Enhancer Advanced Server for free for a period of 10 days.

Apago’s PDF Enhancer, thanks to its PDF creation, standardization, and optimization functionality, is a must have for electronic publishers.
